Tom Blake
Senior Marketing Manager
Tom Blake joined LENSER in 2007, focusing his work with retained clients to develop their house file segmentation and prospecting strategies. He is involved in all aspects of the circulation process, including the test development and initiation, vendor relationship management, merge-purge processes, sales forecasting and analysis, and historical results maintenance.
Before arriving joining LENSER, Tom held a wide variety of positions in the catalog industry, ranging from product, customer and creative services to circulation planning, forecasting and reporting.
He began his career in direct marketing at L.L. Bean (Freeport, ME), holding several positions in multiple departments throughout the organization. His experience there started at the flagship retail store in downtown Freeport, where he specialized in outdoor product sales and service and taught bicycle, ski and snowboarding skills through their outdoor education programs.
After shifting roles to work in the product support and training departments, Tom moved to the marketing department. Here, he began refining his database marketing skills—prospecting strategy, sales forecasting, reporting, and managing alternative media programs, including L.L. Bean’s extensive package insert program, were among his many fortes.
After his stint at L.L. Bean, Tom was Senior Marketing Analyst at Lillian Vernon (Rye, NY) and, later, Circulation Manager at PetEdge (Topsfield, MA). At PetEdge, he gained valuable experience working in a business-to-business environment, performing all aspects of circulation management, including contact strategy and house file regression model development, vendor relationship management, customer database maintenance, sales forecasting and reporting.
Most recently, Tom performed the duties of Marketing Manager for TravelSmith (Novato, CA). Besides shouldering the standard array of responsibilities, he championed modeling techniques and introduced new promotional elements to their top-notch marketing team.
